Serrano Intermediate School Reviews

My son attended this school and my daughter is currently in 7th grade. Phenomenal teaching staff, very professionla and caring towards the students. The concetrp of no child is left behind really applies to this shcool and how the teachers treat the students. The music and drama programs are fantastic!!! The office staff is also very friendly.

If you want to learn about music this is the place to go. The band director rarely has to punish students because he makes the class entertaining. Even though I have to say the teachers can have a lot of favoritism, I enjoyed it there.

This middle school is excellent. My son sent there 6 years ago and my daughter goes there right now. The teachers are great and they are very good at working with and identifying talented students and encouraging them and pushing them. New gym and other facilities are also a plus.

I hated this school. The teacher's were mean and they didn't treat the kids good. The rules were pathetic and lame. The kid's were really nice though and I miss the good times with my friends.

My only complaint about Serrano is the large gap between Honors courses and Regular courses. The regular courses are so diluted and basic and the teacher's expectations are quite low. But the Honors are almost too much the opposite.

I find this school, the teachers and the principal to be amazing. They are very involved in the success of every child. I receive emails from the teachers notifying me of upcoming tests - one even sent us a study guide to help our child study for a final! The new principal is amazing.

I find that this school is largely impersonal, and get the feeling of being a cow, only to be 'herded' through this school without having gotten to know the principle and vice principles. Though most of the teachers were enthusiactic even in events that lacked sense.

Though into lesson plans, teachrs and faculty at this school lack personability and often only get to know (befriend) students who get in trouble, often failing to recognize students in honors programs or who are high achievers

I think the quality of the academic programs is very good. The teachers all all very involved in new projects and highly motivated. There are many extracurricular activities offered in all areas of music, art and sports. Parent involvement is moderate. The new principal is wonderful.
