“Had trouble the first year but this year is better. I have a son in 3rd grade and he has really improved. I really love the special ed teacher, Ms Windham who has helped my younger son to improve so much. It has it's problems but I think if you as a parent gets involved in your kid's school no matter what rating, your kids will do well. Great new principal!!!”

“There needs to be more communications from teachers to students and parents. I feel there's not enough. I feel like I am in the dark sometimes. I email but I get no response back from the teacher.”

“The teachers, overall, are OK & at least some of them seem to give the impression that they enjoy teaching. My husband & I are starting to seriously discuss transferring our daughter. Although she's doing well, I think she's at a disadvantage at Glen Yermo, since she does speak English.”

“My oldest son went to Glen Yermo from K-6th and he seemed to do well - his test scores were always above average. My youngest is currently going into 4th and we're in the process of trying to have him transferred (at his request). I've always been happy with the teachers but I'm not thrilled with the huge number of ESL kids continuing to fill this school. It seems to get worse every year and that is frustrating for both the english-speaking parents and the kids.”

“My son went to Glen Yermo from k - 6th grade and my daughter went k-1st. We just moved because we did not what our children in this school anymore.There is little parent involvement and I have not had teachers that challenge my children except for Mrs. Center(first grade) she was excellent. In kindergarten the children are taught D'Nealian writing and when they switched schools it was difficult for them to adjust. No one else teaches this style of writing.”

“I wish I had one good thing to say about this school as we are only 2 blocks from the school. After 3 yeers of my son going to the scool, we have to find a scholl that will challenge.him. The school seems to have the approved to strive for mediocrity instead of excellence. It is more important that the children who can't speak english learn thier A,B,Cs rather than my child advancing in his ability. I hoped my child would never feel bored in school, but Glenn Yermo has excelled at this one thing.”

“The kindergarten program uses D'Nealian style writing which I do not believe is appropriate for this age. It is dificult for them to adjust.”

“The administration at Glen Yermo accommodate ESL students (which are many). The class sizes are enormous and students that are not in RSP or ESL are at a disadvantage. Advanced students are to wait until middle school to get the attention and instruction needed.”

“My son has attended Glen Yermo since Kindergarten. I believe it is a great school with great teachers. My son has gotten the attention that he requires to excel.”
